By downloading or using Simple OTP, you agree to use it lawfully and only with Google accounts and devices you are authorized to access.

What the app does

Simple OTP is a macOS utility that extracts verification codes from Gmail accounts you connect and makes them available for copying or user-initiated filling. You remain responsible for your accounts, devices, and how you use verification codes.

Google accounts and permissions

When you connect Gmail, you authorize Simple OTP through Google OAuth using Gmail read-only access. Auto Archive is optional, off by default, and separately requests Gmail modify access only after you explicitly enable it for an account. If granted, Simple OTP removes only the INBOX label from a message after that message successfully produces an OTP; the message remains in Gmail All Mail. Denying or disabling Auto Archive preserves read-only features. You may revoke access through Simple OTP or your Google Account at any time. Google services remain governed by Google’s own terms and policies.

Availability and updates

Simple OTP is provided as-is and may change, pause, or end without notice. You are responsible for keeping macOS and the app updated and for maintaining your own backups.

Acceptable use

Do not use Simple OTP to access another person’s accounts, evade security controls, violate applicable law, or interfere with any service. The app is not intended for emergency, safety-critical, or high-risk uses.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simple OTP is provided without warranties of any kind. The publisher is not liable for lost codes, missed messages, account access issues, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after publication of updated terms means you accept the revised terms.
